Maybe we just had one too many root beer floats at last night’s A&W car show because something has got us trolling Craigslist today for 1940’s and 1950’s pick-up trucks and dreaming of a slammed out rat rod project. Just a bare bones, meat and potatoes, American muscle truck that we could spray paint in mat black, throw some off-the-wall flashy ‘look-at-me’ wheels and tires, and call it a day. You know, like the one Sylvester Stalone drives in The Expendables. Well, seek and ye shall find! Is Racing A Sport?

1./spôrt/ noun an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment. As car aficionados you can probably guess where we stand with this question. Yes. Racing is a sport. There, we said it (let the debate begin). But don’t be so quick to parse words or negate the effort involved in producing effective results when you compare racing to the school yard games and organized leagues you played growing up. They all require an inner drive to fuel the compulsion to beat the opponent.
