Why The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering is Unlike Any Car Show You Have Been To
Well, to start off, how many car shows have you gone to that are serving fresh oysters on a half shell and free flowing champagne? Exactly.
This was our second year attending The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, (see last year's pics here) and therefore we had reasonably high expectations going into the event, but sure enough, those expectations were shattered beyond what we had anticipated, and we soon found ourselves once again swept up in the sheer ecstasy of "carnography" laid before us on a perfectly manicured lawn. This year, the Quail highlighted Long Tail Cars of Le Mans, iconic pre-1965 Porsches, Coachbuilt Ferraris, as well as pre-war Sports and Racing cars and the Great Ferraris.
This is only one of many events that you can attend on the Monterey Peninsula during Monterey Car Week, and probably one of the more pricey ones (around $600, which is twice as much as the Pebble Beach Concours), but if you only have room in your budget for one lavish event - hands down, this is the one to go to. But enough talk, the pictures speak for themselves, enjoy!
