Carmel by the Sea is the perfect sleepy town backdrop to gather your friends and family and look at some amazing automobiles, but don't just come for the cars.

Roadkill 1968 Dodge Charger Mopar Frankenstein Monster Build

"This is the equivalent of stepping foot on the moon, that's what happened here today. If I was a guy in a Prius or a Yaris and saw this coming at me in the rear view mirror, I would get out of the way." - Mike Finnegan

Do You Believe in Reincarnation?

Image
It is easy to get caught up in nostalgia, fond memories of what seems like a lifetime ago brought back to the forefront of our minds by the sights, sounds, and smells of a classic car. The leather, the wood, and the sheer simplicity (unless you love German cars) of the inner mechanisms are what attract us to these metal and glass time capsules. Even if we didn't live in our car’s hay-day, when we get in, there’s no doubt in our mind that we could have, and we would have loved every minute of it.

Wicked Quick Has the Look You Need

Image
Okay, so that vintage Laguna Seca tee circa 2009 is pretty cool, but you have been wearing it for three weeks straight now and it no longer passes the sniff test (or any test for that matter). Time to freshen up your wardrobe without looking like your mommy took you on a back-to-school shopping spree. Check out some of these awesome racing inspired looks from Wicked Quick . "Pushing the boundaries while never losing sight of why we first stepped on the pedal, and dedicated to rule-breakers both on and off the track, Wicked Quick makes premium lifestyle pieces for everyday wear for all those who live their life at one speed – all out." – Wicked Quick

Iconic America: Captured

Image
We're too young to reminisce about yesteryear but that doesn't mean we can't appreciate it. And for those of you who can unlock your memory vault and dive into the past you can relive your childhood through the lens of photographer Michael Paul Smith .

911 Porsche V8 Hot Rod: Not for the Pure of Heart

Image
To the Porsche purist, it may be the ultimate sacrilege. But to us, the sound of a well tuned V8 (any V8, regardless of where it lives) is music to our ears. Find this hot rod wide body Porsche 911 930 with ZZ4 Chevy V8 in San Francisco, CA for $27k .

1965 Mustang Fastback: Going Fishing

Image
The owner of this 1965 Mustang Fastback is going fishing and hoping to snag a Cuda. It's unfortunate that so little information is provided on the bait (a trend we're noticing more and more with fastbacks). Perhaps with the 50 year anniversary coming up in 2015 they are starting to sell themselves a la Porsche 911's, but we digress.

2013 Good Guys 27th West Coast Nationals - Pleasanton, CA

Image
If you like car shows and hot rods there's no better place to celebrate the custom rod culture than the rolling hills of Pleasanton, CA at the Good Guys 27th West Coast Nationals Presented By FlowMaster . We spent the better part of our Saturday at the Alameda Fairgrounds hoofing it through polished clear coats and conditioned leather at one of the best American car shows on the planet.

The Expendables 1955 Ford F-100 Rat Rod

Image
Maybe we just had one too many root beer floats at last night’s A&W car show because something has got us trolling Craigslist today for 1940’s and 1950’s pick-up trucks and dreaming of a slammed out rat rod project. Just a bare bones, meat and potatoes, American muscle truck that we could spray paint in mat black, throw some off-the-wall flashy ‘look-at-me’ wheels and tires, and call it a day. You know, like the one Sylvester Stalone drives in The Expendables. Well, seek and ye shall find! This 1955 Ford F-100 is available for sale in Menlo Park, CA for (as the seller states) nothing lower than $4,500.

Celebrate 4th of July with an American Icon

Image
Can you think of a better way to celebrate the upcoming 4th of July weekend, than from the driver seat of an American icon? Besides scarfing down homemade apple pie and singing 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' at the top of your lungs during the seventh inning stretch, few things scream 'God Bless America' more than the roar of a V8 emanating from the exhaust pipes of a Ford Mustang.
